The IT Technical Support’s responsibility is to monitor and maintain the computer system and network of an organization. He will work across a broad range of technologies and liaises across multiple areas of organization. Responsible for answering IT requests via phone, email, discord, instant messenger and explaining solutions in technical and nontechnical terms.
Key Responsibilities:
Will report directly to System Administrator and indirectly to Management team
Preparation of new workstation for deployment, including the unpacking, installation of operating system, setting of operating system and user profiles as per company policies
Preparation, installation and maintenance of printer, scanner and photocopy device
Upgrading workstation as required, such as increasing of memory or hard disk, upgrading graphic card etc
Troubleshoot IT hardware (workstations and other peripherals) and provide acceptable solution
Perform preventive and routine maintenance to the IT assets
Maintain and take care of IT assets
Managing and keep IT assets inventory up-to-date
Assisting the System Administrator on an as-needed basis
Collaborate effectively with other technical teams to define how end-user support should be coordinated, delivered, standardized and communicated
Work with artist around the Studio to understand the evolving needs and workflows
Support multiple hardware and operating system platform including Linux (Ubuntu), MacOS, Windows, iOS and Android, as well as related software, printers, network, remote access and connectivity
Work with management to continuously improve help desk procedures and policies and recommend process improvements
Support a wide array of software packages, both internally developed and third party
Required Skills:
Minimum 2 years experience in technical support or user support, preferably in production setting
Moderate knowledge of managing Linux (preferably Ubuntu), MacOS and Windows system
Experience with software packages used in animation or VFX industries such as Maya, Nuke, and Houdini
Strong analytical problem solving skills
In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
Highly self-directed. Manage and prioritize multiple concurrent and competing challenges, issues, ambiguities, and contradictions that inevitably occur when supporting a highly complex, and diverse production environment
Familiarity with systems tools and protocols
Work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
